Where is administration?
It is about advertisement on your website.

I'm not admin, but I'm pretty sure we don't do ads on this site.

Ads don't appear when you're logged in. As a guest, you'll see them.

Hello. I'm not an admin, but I think I can be of some help here. registered users ( + logged in users) do not see adds, guests see adds. Or isn't this what you ask?

I also don't see ads while logged in, but recently, I visited the site from another computer as a guest, and I got some pretty irritating and potentially dangerous ads. I mean the kind that take up your full screen, play sound, and prevent you from closing out of the window.

Admins, is there anything to be done about making the types of ads safer for guests? I wouldn't want to try out the site if I were afraid of catching a virus from it.

These kind of ads are unacceptable on LT. We are working with several advertisers and we are always stressing that ads must be unobtrusive.
Please make screenshots if possible and tell us your country, we'll try to check it out.

As I know, the guests receive publicity on the screen
when they look at the Lyrics Translate page.
This doesn't happen when you are a LT member and you have logged in.

I tried to open the site without logging in and with both uBlock and AdBlock turned off and indeed on the right side there was a very big add that covered everything. What's more for a very long time, at least 30 seconds, it was not possible to close it. When it was finally possible I clicked on it and reported that it was covering the content. It was a Google add.

Do you recall if it was desktop or mobile device?
Translation page or some other page?

Answers to these questions will help us understand what advertising network was the cause.

I logged at home using my desktop. It was on my main page where one can see all my translations. Without logging only "Side activity" bar and "Trending Now" are visible and both were covered by a very long add. As I understand my action was reported to Google - after reporting it clearly showed that it was a Google add.

A while ago I logged out, turned off NoScript and all 4 adblockers (on LT normally I use only adblocker for YouTube) and I set Kaspersky to allow spying me and it didn't repeat anymore. So far no problem, but I'm not sure whether the problem was solved for good or only temporary.

We do not serve any ads on translators profiles at all, both for logged in and not logged in visitors.

Additionally, we tried to reproduce the issue using VPN connection to different countries, no luck seeing any offensive ads.

Possible theoretical explanations are:

-- Your computer has a virus which injects ads to the websites you see,
-- Your ISP is injecting ads to the websites you see,
-- LT is hacked and somebody injects code we are not aware of,
-- et cetera

If you'll see something suspicious please make a screenshot for us. Thanks for helping with this.

I checked again today and I didn't see any add at all. I think it's not a virus in my computer, 'cause I don't have any problem on other sites and I wasn't the only one who experienced it. It happened only once and it was for sure a Google add. I'm afraid they overdid. In any case it would be good to talk to them.

I don't know what Goggle is allowed to do, but I always believed that there are some spaces created by the site owner that are sold to advertisers. If that was the case, it's even harder to explain why that happened.
