The bold whore

Assuming I've got talent, it's of the amorous kind.
My insolent body is proof enough of that.
My precious and fickle body,
the blue of my bold eyes,
for my charms are a precision work1
that won't fool anyone.
He who wants to gain my favours and taste
my pouting mouth2 and conquering heart
shall come on the sly at midnight
with a plump wallet, incognito3.
We will become lovers, outrageously
and frolickingly4 for a moment,
but just for a moment.

  • 1. lit. "drawn with a compass"
  • 2. lit. "heart-shaped mouth"
  • 3. The complete expression is "ni vu ni connu" (neither seen nor recognized). "connu" is just skipped to fit the meter
  • 4. The adverb doesn't exist in French either

Author's comments:

"beau/belle" usually means "handsome/pretty" but can also mean something like "a piece of work" in some contexts.
