Mi ruiseñor

Yo aprendí de un ruiseñor
los trinos y sus melodías
y hasta el eco de mi voz,
y hasta el eco de mi voz
un ruiseñor parecía.

Lo encerré en jaula de encaje
que fabriqué en plata pura,
de oro le hice el ramaje
para que el bello plumaje,
para que el bello plumaje
conservara su hermosura.

Le di a beber con mis labios
y en mis manos le cantaba.
Era como un centinela
que en mis sueños arrullaba.

Una mañana la aurora
su trino ya no escuchó:
¡Ay! que murió la voz sonora,
que murió la voz sonora
de mi pobre ruiseñor.

¡Ay!, al morir mi ruiseñor
mató la flor de mi cante
y se me quebró la voz,
y se me quebró la voz
como se quiebra un diamante.

Lo enterré en un jazminero,
le hice un trono de flores
y de homenaje postrero
le cantarán los jilgueros,
le cantarán los jilgueros,
alondras y ruiseñores.

Una mañana la aurora
su trino ya no escuchó:
¡Ay! que murió la voz sonora,
que murió la voz sonora
de mi pobre ruiseñor.

My Nightingale

I learned from a nightingale
Their chirps and canticles
And even the echo of my voice
And even the echo of my voice
It resembled like the nightingale.

I locked him in a lace cage
that I made with pure silver,
I made their branches with gold
So that his beautiful feathers,
So that his beautiful feathers
May keep their beauty.

I gave him to drink with my lips
and I sang to him in my hands,
He was like a sentinel
That cradled all my dreams.

At the morning's dawn
I did not hear their chirps
Alas!, his sound voice has died,
His sound voice has died
Of my poor nightingale.

Alas! when my nightingale died,
He killed the voice of my song,
and my voice broke,
and my voice broke
Like a crystal is broken.

I buried him in a field of jasmine
I made a throne with flowers
And as a last tribute
The goldfinches, larks
The goldfinches, larks
And nightingales will sing to him.

At the morning's dawn
I did not hear their chirps
Alas!, his sound voice has died,
His sound voice has died
Of my poor nightingale.
